1966 GTO Hardtop Coupe
The 1965-67 Pontiac GTOs feature some of the most distinctive and attractive styling to come out of Detroit. With the classic Coke bottle styling, stacked headlights, and one year only louvered tail light covers, this 1966 example is absolutely stunning! On the outside it glows with a beautiful burgundy finish and classic hardtop "pillarless" style. The redline tires on factory Pontiac Rallye wheels with chrome trim rings really add to the stunning good looks. The chrome trim and bumpers are flawless, and the overall appearance condition is excellent. Inside there are factory buckets up front covered in parchment colored vinyl with a center console. This GTO features factory wood trim, remote mirror, and factory seat belts. A vintage air unit has been added to keep everything cool even on the hottest days and makes this a 365 day usable muscle car. Under the hood, the factory 389 has been removed and replace with a 455 cubic inch screamer. On top you will find an Edelbrock polished 4-barrel carburetor on an aluminum dual plane intake. Chrome valve covers and open element air cleaner add to the visual appeal. The 455 powerhouse is mated to a four speed manual transmission, and combined with power brakes and power steering, give the driver complete control of this "Tiger". The differential gears have been changed to a numerically lower gear for better freeway cruise, increased fuel mileage, and better overall drive ability. This makes this GTO an honest to goodness everyday drive able classic that will still scream all the way down the quarter mile. If you are in the market for a full sized two door coupe that will comfortably cruise down the boulevard and take no prisoners at the track, then look no farther than this stunning GTO.
