2004 Chevrolet SSR
The Chevrolet SSR was a concept car that somehow made it into production unchanged. Produced from 2003-2006, the SSR is today a rare sight to see outside of car shows or private collections. With unique looks reminiscent of the 1947-55' Chevrolet pick ups, the SSR looked like nothing else on the road before or since. The front grille captures the look of those early pick ups while the bulging fenders give the SSR a wide stance and housed meaty Goodyear tires sized 19" in front and 20" in the rear. Those meaty tires were necessary to put the power down from the Vortec 5300 V-8 pushing out 300 horsepower through a four speed automatic transmission with a limited slip rear end and electronic traction control. While this SSR is fun to drive with all that power, it is also comfortable, with more options than you might have expected. Inside you'll find heated leather seats with two person memory, auto dimming exterior mirrors, power windows, power locks, and an BOSE AM/FM/CD stereo with 6-disc CD changer and excellent sound quality. The windows are tinted a deep dark black that keeps the interior cool and presents a nice contrast to the bright red color. The paint finish on this low mileage example is flawless, and the entire vehicle presents as show room new. In the bed you'll find a carpeted liner that is absolutely perfect and even a small storage compartment in the lid of the bed itself. Weather nice? Drop the retractable hard top with a push of a button and make sure that all eyes are on you while you cruise around with the wind in your hair!
